Surgery fund for Dina: hip replacement surgery in Zagazig
After a benign brain tumor, Dina was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In May I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. My surgeon at Zagazig Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,200 short.
Doctors at Zagazig Orthopedic Institute told me a benign brain tumor will get worse without hip replacement surgery. I work as a hotel cleaner, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a hotel cleaner have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $550
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $370
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Post-operative medication: $65
• Physiotherapy sessions: $100
• Travel and lodging for the family: $70
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
