Dina was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in February. The surgeon at Luxor University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $900, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $450 short. my sister has been in and out of Luxor University Hospital since February. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Dina struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Dina won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
