Claire was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in July. The surgeon at Manchester Regional Medical Center recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $3,100 short.
my mother has been in and out of Manchester Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Claire struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Claire won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
