Claire was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in June. The surgeon at Lyon University Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $3,950 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Lyon University Hospital since June. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Claire struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Claire won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
