Surgery fund for Christopher: hip replacement surgery in San Diego
A scheduled hip replacement surgery in August is out of reach without help covering $6,550 of the cost.

In June I was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction. My surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $8,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $6,550 short.
Doctors at Saint Anne Hospital told me a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without hip replacement surgery. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $8,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.

• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $530
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,550
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,200
• Post-operative medication: $270
