Carolina was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in July. The surgeon at Contagem Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $2,400 short.
my mother has been in and out of Contagem Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Carolina struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Carolina won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
