Brendan was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in May. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $15,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $7,450 short. my son has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since May. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $15,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Brendan struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Brendan won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $7,450 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,650 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $3,500 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $400 • Post-operative medication: $340 • Physiotherapy sessions: $430 • Travel and lodging for the family: $130 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Sorcha

  1. Thank you all. We're at 48% now ($3,550). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward post-operative medication.

  2. We're at 22% thanks to 42 of you. I met with the hospital and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.
