Beth was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in September. The surgeon at Charlotte Orthopedic Institute recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $7,550 short.
my wife has been in and out of Charlotte Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Beth struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Beth won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
