Batuhan was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in September. The surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,100, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,850 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Luke Hospital since September. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Batuhan struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Batuhan won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $85
• Travel and lodging for the family: $90
• Physiotherapy sessions: $75
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $900
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $700

Sure. The biggest one is post-operative medication, $85. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.
