A scheduled hip replacement surgery in February is out of reach without help covering $4,300 of the cost.

Andrew was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in December. The surgeon at San Diego University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,300 short.
my husband has been in and out of San Diego University Hospital since December. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Andrew struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Andrew won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
