Allison was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in April. The surgeon at Manchester Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my wife has been in and out of Manchester Regional Medical Center since April. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Allison struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Allison won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
