Abdullah was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in June. The surgeon at Heliopolis Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,300, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $900 short. my father has been in and out of Heliopolis Regional Medical Center since June. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,300 is more than we can find. While we wait, Abdullah struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Abdullah won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
