Aarón was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,150, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,500 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aarón struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Aarón won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
