Sunita lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at Nashik General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,150. Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Sunita could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,150 goes: • powered wheelchair: $1,050 • Fitting and training sessions: $60 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $15 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Ramesh

Updates from Ramesh

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($483 in total) the plan for delivery and set-up is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • I hope things turn around soon. After 16 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

    • Thinking of you, Ramesh. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Sent it to 9 people at work. Thinking of Nashik

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sunita.

            • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. powered wheelchair comes first ($1,050) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.

          • Wishing Sunita a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
