Sumaiya was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in December. The surgeon at Pune General Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $800 short. my daughter has been in and out of Pune General Hospital since December. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find. While we wait, Sumaiya struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Sumaiya won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
