Sultana is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at Gazipur Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $400.
The registrar has said Sultana can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sultana has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sultana would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Sultana isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Gazipur Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $400 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $170
• Final term tuition: $185
• Exam and lab fees: $30
• Textbooks and materials: $15
