Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Serenity's family in Hialeah
A termination letter arrived last week. Serenity needs $4,300 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Hialeah.

When the construction firm closed in March, Serenity fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $4,300.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Serenity has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.

• Utilities in arrears: $170
• First month of rent as a buffer: $610
