Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Alejandro's family in Girona
A court summons for non-payment arrived last week. Alejandro needs $2,150 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Girona.

When the textile factory closed in September, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,150.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $220
• Late fees and court costs: $160
• Rent arrears (5 months): $1,770

Take care, Alejandro. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Cape Town.
