Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Christian's family in Bakersfield
After a car accident, Christian is 3 months behind on rent and has a court summons for non-payment from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in December, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $4,800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by March, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,800 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $3,800
• Late fees and court costs: $210
• Utilities in arrears: $270
• First month of rent as a buffer: $520
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Thinking of you, Christian. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Shubra but we're thinking of you.
Take care. Shared this with my family. I hope March is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Bakersfield
Keep going, Christian. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Bakersfield.
