Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Halima's family in Lagos
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Halima needs $450 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Lagos.

When the warehouse closed in May, Halima fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $450.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Halima has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $450 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $110
• Late fees and court costs: $40
• Rent arrears (2 months): $300
Thanks for being kind about this.
