Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Benjamin's family in Sherbrooke
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Benjamin needs $4,400 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Sherbrooke.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 7 weeks, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $4,400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,400 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $2,950
• Late fees and court costs: $310
• Utilities in arrears: $320
• First month of rent as a buffer: $820
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Thinking of Sherbrooke.
You're not alone, Benjamin. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Thinking of you and your family, Benjamin. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Benjamin. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.

You're not alone, Benjamin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from San Francisco.
