Stephanie can't leave home - help build a ramp
Stephanie uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States546 views
Stephanie has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Stephanie can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Stephanie's family will cook lunch for the team.

Hope it all works out, Patrick. Wishing Stephanie a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I hope October is when things finally get easier.
wishing Stephanie a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from London.
Stay strong. Hope the doctors have good news. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Wish I lived closer to Manchester so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Oakland.
Hang in there, Patrick. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I hope October is when things finally get easier
