Stavroula's a partial thyroidectomy can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a hip fracture that never healed properly, Stavroula was cleared for a partial thyroidectomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Stavroula was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in May. The surgeon at Athens Regional Medical Center recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $4,200 short.
my mother has been in and out of Athens Regional Medical Center since May. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Stavroula struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Stavroula won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. surgeon and anesthesia fees comes first ($1,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
