Start-up fund for Yolanda: reopening a bicycle repair shop after a break-in

Yolanda has run a bicycle repair shop for six years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $850 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Coyoacán. In July, a break-in took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $850 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $195 • Initial stock: spare parts: $260 • Replacing a full set of tools: $395 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Yolanda

Thinking of you and your family, Yolanda. Shared it with a few friends. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care.
