Start-up fund for Wanjiru: reopening a fish stall after floodwater
A fish stall in Kisumu needs help replacing a freezer and scales after floodwater.
🇰🇪 Kenya1,301 views
For four years I have run a fish stall in Kisumu. In October, floodwater took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $300 goes:
• Initial stock: the first catch: $115
• Shop repairs and licensing: $125
• Working capital for the first month: $60
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
