Start-up fund for Vanessa: reopening a roadside café after a long illness and repossession
Vanessa has run a roadside café for three years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $450 will put it back on its feet.

For three years I have run a roadside café in Quezon City. In September, a long illness and repossession took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $200
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $125
• Shop repairs and licensing: $80
• Working capital for the first month: $45
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Vanessa
Good news. Because of your gifts ($163 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 22% now ($100). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward replacing an espresso machine and grinder.
We're at 11% thanks to 1 of you. the plan for working capital for the first month is now scheduled. More news soon.
