Start-up fund for Uchenna: reopening a tailoring shop after a long illness and repossession
Uchenna lost three industrial sewing machines to a long illness and repossession and needs $750 to reopen a tailoring shop and support the family.

For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Lagos. In July, a long illness and repossession took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $750 goes:
• Replacing three industrial sewing machines: $420
• Initial stock: fabric and thread: $125
• Shop repairs and licensing: $80
• Working capital for the first month: $125
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out, Uchenna. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Lagos.
Wishing you peace, Uchenna. Hope the shop reopens soon. Please keep us posted. All the best
Wishing you the best. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Lagos.
sending love, Uchenna. This could happen to any of us. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Stay strong. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings
