Start-up fund for Thilini: reopening a laundry service after a storm that collapsed the roof
Thilini lost two washing machines and a dryer to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $400 to reopen a laundry service and support the family.

For six years I have run a laundry service in Negombo. In August, a storm that collapsed the roof took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $115
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $210
• Shop repairs and licensing: $75
Thank you so much.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Thilini
It's all in the list in the story. initial stock: detergent and packaging is the big one at $115, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Ask me anything else.
Hope the shop reopens soon. Put this on a community board in Denpasar this morning
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Thilini?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about initial stock: detergent and packaging, advice is welcome too. I'll keep the page updated.
Wishing you peace, Thilini. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Akron donated after I showed her your page
hang in there, Thilini. Hope the shop reopens soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.
