Start-up fund for Tejaswini: reopening a small grocery stall after a fire in the building
Tejaswini lost a cold-storage unit to a fire in the building and needs $450 to reopen a small grocery stall and support the family.

For nine years I have run a small grocery stall in Coimbatore. In August, a fire in the building took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $220
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $105
• Shop repairs and licensing: $45
• Working capital for the first month: $80
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tejaswini.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. replacing a cold-storage unit comes first ($220) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 23 people at work.
Wishing you the best, Tejaswini. Hope the shop reopens soon. All the best
Hope things get better soon. Shared it with a few friends. My husband and I read this together. Take care.
