Start-up fund for Silas: reopening a fish stall after floodwater
Silas has run a fish stall for twelve years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $3,450 will put it back on its feet.

For twelve years I have run a fish stall in Vancouver. In July, floodwater took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $1,800
• Initial stock: the first catch: $740
• Shop repairs and licensing: $360
• Working capital for the first month: $550
With deep gratitude,
Silas

Wishing you the best, Silas. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Hope the shop reopens soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Vancouver.
Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Vancouver.
praying for you, Silas. Hope you get there.
Stay strong, Silas. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless
