Start-up fund for Shakil: reopening a bicycle repair shop after a fire in the building
A bicycle repair shop in Narayanganj needs help replacing a full set of tools after a fire in the building.
🇧🇩 Narayanganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh518 views
For nine years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Narayanganj. In April, a fire in the building took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $95
• Initial stock: spare parts: $70
• Replacing a full set of tools: $285
Thanks for reading all this.

Best of luck, Shakil. Hope the shop reopens soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Narayanganj.
