Start-up fund for Sanket: reopening a fish stall after floodwater
Sanket lost a freezer and scales to floodwater and needs $250 to reopen a fish stall and support the family.

For six years I have run a fish stall in Surat. In August, floodwater took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $250 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $70
• Working capital for the first month: $50
• Initial stock: the first catch: $130
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sanket
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. shop repairs and licensing comes first ($70) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
Wishing you the best. Small businesses are the heart of Surat. Hope you're open again soon. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best
Thinking of you and your family. Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Thinking of you and your family, Sanket. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Please keep us posted.
