Start-up fund for Queen: reopening a small grocery stall after floodwater
Queen has run a small grocery stall for twelve years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $150 will put it back on its feet.

For twelve years I have run a small grocery stall in Lagos. In May, floodwater took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $150 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $45
• Shop repairs and licensing: $65
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $40
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Lagos.
can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Lagos
Thank you. If you're in Lagos I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Ask me anything else.
Good luck. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Thinking of Lagos.
Hang in there, Queen. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Dhaka.
Thanks for sharing this, Queen. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Lagos.
Hope this works out for you. My husband and I read this together!
