Start-up fund for Omar: reopening a sewing studio after the demolition of the market
Omar has run a sewing studio for three years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

For three years I have run a sewing studio in Gazipur. In May, the demolition of the market took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $160
• Initial stock: fabric: $90
• Shop repairs and licensing: $45
• Working capital for the first month: $105
Thanks for being kind about this.
Updates from Omar
Good news. Because of your gifts ($151 in total) I made the first payment toward working capital for the first month. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Thinking of you and your family, Omar. Hope this works out for you. Take care
thanks for sharing this. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Love from Mardan.
Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Gazipur.
Hang in there, Omar. Hope the shop reopens soon. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Omar. Hope you make a strong comeback. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
