Start-up fund for Nneka: reopening a small grocery stall after a long illness and repossession
Nneka has run a small grocery stall for fifteen years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $750 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a small grocery stall in Kaduna. In November, a long illness and repossession took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $750 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $480
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $100
• Shop repairs and licensing: $60
• Working capital for the first month: $110
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Take care, Nneka. Looking forward to the next update. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care!
You're not alone, Nneka. Hope you get there. Thinking of Kaduna.
wishing you peace, Nneka. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Kaduna
