Start-up fund for Netsanet: reopening a roadside café after the demolition of the market
A roadside café in Addis Ababa needs help replacing an espresso machine and grinder after the demolition of the market.

For four years I have run a roadside café in Addis Ababa. In September, the demolition of the market took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $50
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $340
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $60
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

So sorry you're going through this, Netsanet. This could happen to any of us. I hope December is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Addis Ababa
Hope things get better soon, Netsanet. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did
Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Shreveport.
You're not alone, Netsanet. Hope you make a strong comeback. All the best.
