Start-up fund for Nasrin: reopening a roadside café after a break-in
A roadside café in Dhaka needs help replacing an espresso machine and grinder after a break-in.
🇧🇩 Dhaka, Bangladesh758 views
For three years I have run a roadside café in Dhaka. In February, a break-in took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $500 goes:
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $280
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $90
• Shop repairs and licensing: $45
• Working capital for the first month: $85
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hang in there. Hope the shop reopens soon. Sent it to 19 people at work.
I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Greetings from Freiburg.
Hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Badagry so I could bring a meal. Love from Tel Aviv!
Shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Mangaluru.
thanks for sharing this, Nasrin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier!
Wishing you peace, Nasrin. Hope this works out for you. After 28 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Best of luck, Nasrin. Shared it with a few friends. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
So sorry you're going through this, Nasrin. Hope you make a strong comeback. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
