Start-up fund for Nalini: reopening a roadside café after the demolition of the market
Nalini has run a roadside café for four years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $950 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a roadside café in Soweto. In June, the demolition of the market took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $950 goes:
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $185
• Shop repairs and licensing: $90
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $675
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending good thoughts, Nalini. Hope you make a strong comeback. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out.
