Start-up fund for Mateus: reopening a neighborhood bakery after floodwater
A neighborhood bakery in Ribeirão Preto needs help replacing a commercial oven after floodwater.
🇧🇷 Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil1,043 views
For nine years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Ribeirão Preto. In February, floodwater took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $140
• Replacing a commercial oven: $740
• Working capital for the first month: $120
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hang in there. Hope you get there. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
Rooting for you. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Jakarta but we're thinking of you!
Good luck, Mateus. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings
You're not alone, Mateus. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
