Start-up fund for Luca: reopening a sewing studio after floodwater
Luca has run a sewing studio for twelve years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $2,250 will put it back on its feet.

For twelve years I have run a sewing studio in Bari. In August, floodwater took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $1,750
• Initial stock: fabric: $340
• Working capital for the first month: $160
Every share and every dollar helps.

Keep going. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Pune but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Bari.
Hang in there. Hope you make a strong comeback. After 17 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Bari.
