Start-up fund for Laura: reopening a laundry service after floodwater
Laura has run a laundry service for six years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $3,500 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a laundry service in Fort Collins. In September, floodwater took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $630
• Working capital for the first month: $360
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $2,510
I hope life is good to you.

This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Hawassa
Looking forward to the next update. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Take care!
Hang in there, Laura. Shared it with a few friends
Best of luck. Shared this with my family. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Fort Collins.
You're not alone, Laura. This could happen to any of us.
