Start-up fund for Lakshmi: reopening a roadside café after floodwater
Lakshmi has run a roadside café for four years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $450 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a roadside café in Lucknow. In July, floodwater took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $105
• Shop repairs and licensing: $70
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $275
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Hang in there, Lakshmi. It takes guts to ask. Well done!
Best of luck. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Sent it to 12 people at work. God bless
gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Lucknow
