Start-up fund for Krishna: reopening a neighborhood bakery after a long illness and repossession
A neighborhood bakery in Bhaktapur needs help replacing a commercial oven after a long illness and repossession.

For nine years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Bhaktapur. In May, a long illness and repossession took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $150 goes:
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $75
• Shop repairs and licensing: $40
• Working capital for the first month: $35
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Best of luck, Krishna. Shared this with my family. Love from Anaheim.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Krishna.
Sending strength. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Bhaktapur.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Krishna?
Thank you. If you're in Bhaktapur I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
Wishing you peace. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Bhaktapur.
This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
you're not alone, Krishna. Hope the shop reopens soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
Hang in there, Krishna. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 22 people at work.
Thinking of you and your family, Krishna. Small businesses are the heart of Bhaktapur. Hope you're open again soon. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Take care.
