Start-up fund for Khadija: reopening a laundry service after the demolition of the market
Khadija lost two washing machines and a dryer to the demolition of the market and needs $300 to reopen a laundry service and support the family.

For fifteen years I have run a laundry service in Mansoura. In March, the demolition of the market took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $300 goes:
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $140
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $80
• Shop repairs and licensing: $35
• Working capital for the first month: $45
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($85 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Khadija
