Start-up fund for Ketki: reopening a laundry service after a fire in the building
Ketki lost two washing machines and a dryer to a fire in the building and needs $500 to reopen a laundry service and support the family.

For three years I have run a laundry service in Mumbai. In August, a fire in the building took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $500 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $70
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $340
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $90
Thank you for reading my story.

Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Ketki?
you're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Kisumu
Wishing you the best, Ketki. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
Sending love. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Manchester donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
