Start-up fund for Joaquín: reopening a laundry service after a break-in
Joaquín has run a laundry service for fifteen years; a break-in destroyed the equipment, and $650 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a laundry service in Bogotá. In July, a break-in took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $650 goes:
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $85
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $450
• Working capital for the first month: $115
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending good thoughts. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Bogotá
you're not alone. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
