Jay has run a sewing studio for three years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

Jabalpur
For three years I have run a sewing studio in Jabalpur. In January, a long illness and repossession took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $400 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $80 • Initial stock: fabric: $110 • Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $210 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Jay

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jay

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. working capital for the first month comes first ($80) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
