Start-up fund for Jada: reopening a fish stall after a long illness and repossession
A fish stall in Half-Way Tree needs help replacing a freezer and scales after a long illness and repossession.
🇯🇲 Half-Way Tree, Saint Andrew, Jamaica3,190 views
For twelve years I have run a fish stall in Half-Way Tree. In August, a long illness and repossession took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $140
• Initial stock: the first catch: $200
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $660
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope things get better soon. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Put this on a community board in Bengaluru this morning.

Best of luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Southampton
