Start-up fund for Isaac: reopening a laundry service after floodwater
Isaac has run a laundry service for nine years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $750 will put it back on its feet.
🇳🇬 Enugu, NigeriaPosted Sep 19, 20261,161 views
For nine years I have run a laundry service in Enugu. In August, floodwater took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $750 goes:
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $480
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $115
• Shop repairs and licensing: $45
• Working capital for the first month: $110
With deep gratitude,
Isaac
