Start-up fund for Hazel: reopening a tailoring shop after a storm that collapsed the roof
Hazel lost three industrial sewing machines to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $4,350 to reopen a tailoring shop and support the family.

For three years I have run a tailoring shop in Syracuse. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Replacing three industrial sewing machines: $3,500
• Initial stock: fabric and thread: $610
• Shop repairs and licensing: $240
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($144). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

Stay strong. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Las Cruces donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Syracuse.
hope it all works out, Hazel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Yogyakarta.
